The Juanjo canning company was created in 1989 by a married couple who had been working in the sector all their lives, who were dissatisfied with the industrialization of the production processes and decided to create their own company to dedicate themselves to the artisan production of anchovy and bonito.

That is why from the beginning the following principles were clear:

  • Make exclusively Cantabrian anchovy and bonito from the north with top quality olive oil with the right degree to maintain its flavor and qualities.
  • The skin of the anchovies is cleaned every morning, using the hand rubbing technique.
  • Maintain artisanal processes and produce only the quantities that guarantee the quality and freshness of the preserve.

In this way they get a completely handmade product, of the highest quality and guarantee.

Anchovies are rich in omega-3, which helps to lower the levels of cholesterol and plasma triglycerides, also increasing the fluidity of the blood, preventing thrombi and clots. Rich in vitamins B2, B3, B6, B9 and B12, all of them with important functions. Fat-soluble vitamins such as A and D, contributing to the regeneration of tissues and skin, promoting resistance to infections, and necessary for the development of the nervous system and night vision.
