- Sardines are a very good source of omega-3s, which help lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels, as well as increase blood fluidity, which reduces the risk of atherosclerosis and thrombosis. For this reason, the consumption of sardines and other oily fish is recommended in cardiovascular diseases. Its protein content is also high.
- Among the vitamins are some of the B group such as B12, B1 or Niacin, which allow the use of energy nutrients (carbohydrates, fats and proteins). They are involved in numerous processes of great importance such as the formation of red blood cells, the synthesis of genetic material, the production of sex hormones, etc.
- It also contains significant amounts of fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D and E. The former contributes to the maintenance, growth and repair of the mucous membranes, skin and other tissues of the body. It favors resistance against infections and is necessary for the development of the nervous system and for night vision.
