Bodegas Protos
Protos is a winery with DO Rivera del Duero that is located in the town of Peñafiel, in Valladolid. It was the first winery to make wines in the Ribera del Duero, in 1927; for this reason it has an unsurpassed historical value. In addition, it works with vineyards that are over sixty years old.
Protos Gran Reserva 2010 is made with the country's Tinta variety, which is transferred to the winery in small 20 kg boxes. Then a second selection is made to find the best beans. The wine is first aged for 24 months in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels and then another 36 months in the bottle. The end result is excellent.
