Bodegas Protos Protos is a wine with DO ribera del Duero which is situated in the locality of Peñafiel, in Valladolid. It was the first winery to produce wines in the Ribera del Duero, in 1927; therefore enjoys an unsurpassed historical value. In addition, he works with vineyards that are more than sixty years. Protos Gran Reserva 2010 is made with the variety Tinta del país, which is brought to the winery in small boxes of 20 Kg. They then make a second selection to give with the best beans. The wine is first aged for 24 months in French oak barrels (80%) and american (20%) and then a further 36 months in bottle. The end result is excellent. Tasting note View: cherry Color with garnet rim, very colorful, bright, with tear, fine. Nose: Fine, intense, with many nuances: red and black fruits, aromas of toasted and mineral notes of licorice, cocoa, vanilla, caramel and spices. Mouth: Concentrated, powerful, fruity, round and long. Velvety and soft. Ripe tannins very well harmonized. Warm, friendly, and elegant.
