What is rooibos?
The red tea Pu-erh tea and rooibos tea are often compared and confused because they are similar in color. However, they are very different: Pu-erh tea comes from the plant Camellia Sinensis, as black tea and green tea, and the rooibos is technically not a tea; it is actually an infusion, as it comes from a shrub of south african origin.
The rooibos tea has no contraindications, but it maintains the benefits of the teas themselves, as is the case of the red tea.
- Do not have any caffeine or theine, is a healthy drink for pregnant women, children, and mothers in period of lactation and in addition can be consumed by hypertensive patients.
- Contains low amounts of tannins, polyphenols present in many plants, and are responsible for the bitter taste and astringent. The tannins bind and decrease in certain occasions, the assimilation of proteins and interfere with iron absorption in the body.

How to prepare this infusion
As simple as boiling water and pouring it into a cup which include a tablespoon (or to taste) of the dry grass of the pot. After leaving it lay about 3 minutes, you can strain out the solids and enjoy the tea either hot or cold.
